Peter Thawley - exhilarating art for thoughtful workspace.

I am painter who trained and initially exhibited in London and the Midlands. I learnt my portraiture and fine line techniques from two distinguished Royal Academicians and their encouragement has led to frequent commissions.

Although a wonderful traditional artist, my passion is now for fine contemporary work: precise, dramatic and highly distinctive. I work out of Castle Studio on the Bridgwater Road, near Bristol and on the edge of Somerset. I produce bespoke artwork for exhibition in any corporation or commercial environment.

It's difficult to explain a passion, but my work definitely comes from 'within', from the inspiration of a mood or particular moment I am experiencing. I have to sketch such thoughts immediately; that way the composition becomes easy and inspires me to work all hours, giving a wonderfully fulfilling sense of satisfaction and freedom

My multi-media style has tremendous breadth. A single picture can include pen and ink fine detail, watercolour wash, acrylics, chalks and mixed coloured pencils. My contemporary paintings can give an exhilarating new dimension to the day-to-day feel of any workplace. Beyond simply banishing bare walls, the earlier my involvement begins, the more profound and effective his influence. Discussions with developers, architects and interior designers all contribute to the preliminary drawings I submit to ensure each client's satisfaction.

Most of my works are easy on the eye, with perspective views and a dramatic honesty which is true and distinctive. I've become fascinated with 'life' in its broadest sense and try to document it precisely in my paintings
