It is always difficult to explain a ‘passion’.

My private work definitely comes from within, from inspiration of a mood or time
I am experiencing or feeling, and then I have to sketch these thoughts immediately.

When I work I focus my thoughts and create what my inner mind tells me. Overall composition becomes easy and inspires me to work all hours, giving a wonderful sense of satisfaction and freedom which is so fulfilling.

The enjoyment of putting a painting or picture together [artists don’t like the word picture – but it is] that you can look into. The contemporary format makes people’s inner mind work and gives them a sense of understanding; this is appreciation.

Most of my works are easy on the eye with perspective views and dramatic honesty, which is true and recognisable. I have become fascinated with Life in the broadest sense and endeavour to document that in my works.

The medium of textures I use are so mixed that many an artist would cringe, but I have mastered these varying techniques over the years. Of course, when someone asks “what medium do you use” I think ‘here we go again’

My technique includes pen and ink fine detail, water colour wash, acrylics and mixed colour pencils, sometimes perhaps all in one picture. I find I can get greater depth in variation tones of colours, so varied that it undertone difference and so many colour changes.

As a full-time artist I can fulfill my needs to hopefully establish recognition.

It is very important to me to move into the world of corporate art and individual bespoke art work as this would be a thank you to those mentors and friends who have supported me over the years. Not least to thank Tom and Mary James [Castle Farm] who have both encouraged and inspired me allowing me a wonderful studio.

Last but not least I have two wonderful children, all grown up with families of their own. I do believe they are quite proud of my work but highly critical as one would expect !
